Christmas Rom-Com for Book Lovers (Dash & Lily)

I hate that I am so late to so many new shows lately with my swamping assignments but glad I finished this one in three hours. Before you panic, Dash & Lily is not a 3 hour movie. It is an 8-episode christmas teenage rom-com based on a book by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. The show takes place throughout December about how these two teens, in a way, start falling for each other. 

The all-new Netflix show stars Austin Abrams (If you don't know him, then clearly you haven't seen any other teenage based movie in the last few years, whether it is rom-com or a weird horror movie) and Midori Francis, who has always played the side character, are the ultimate darlings of this show which is kind of obvious since they are leads. 

I actually ended up liking this cliche but memorable love story, in a certain way, because it was different. And also David Levithan was apart of this so... It is like I was meant to like it. There have been a few movies made based on his books but not all of them were great except for Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (If you haven't seen it, go watch it) but this is by far the best adaptation. Makes me want to start collecting his books. 

But anyways, Dash & Lily is a fresh, great take on a Christmas love story unlike the many hallmark movies that will be releasing this holiday season. Dash & Lily has this sense of fun and makes you want to be able to to be yourself and has awesome choice of Christmas music that plays in the background. For some reason, apart from it being written by a book, the show seems like it was made for people who love read. So, any book lovers out there, you are going to love this show as much as I do.

DC is in a tough spot with the new reboot and the constant disinterest in the movies they have been providing, which is unfortunate since films like Shazam and The Flash , despite not being DC's best, had their credits due. An Overlooked, Fun Marvel Adventure (The Marvels spoiler-free review)

  This is probably the closest thing to a Marvel team-up we will get for a while, and it is unfortunate that the drama within the media surrounding this film is based on reasons that are not progressive. However, that is not what we are here to talk about. The Marvels is the latest entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing back Carol Danvers in her latest adventure with Nick Fury and some newfound partnerships with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan.  The Marvels is set 33 years after the first Captain Marvel movie, where Carol is still trying to save the universe and she thinks she's the only one who can. Loki season 2 (Full season review)

With Marvel in a sort of whirlpool of viewers not having consistent reception towards the content, they seem to be missing a very important and well-done part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Loki lives up to that statement with its second season. Despite its new writers and directors at the helm, the show still showcases the best parts of Marvel's storytelling.  Taking place immediately after the end of season 1, Loki is dealing with the shenanigans of the TVA and the involvement of Kang variants with the release of the multiverse. It is up to Loki and co. (consisting of Mobius, Hunter B-5, and Casey) to deal with the consequences caused by Sylvie. The show still continues to be a trippy, timey-wimey time travel adventure but adds the Marvel-ous flair that made the franchise so memorable.
