The Monster Brawl For The Ages (Godzilla vs Kong)

Image
Two movie monster legends collide for the first time, finally answering the long-time question Kaiju fans have been demanding for,  determining who is the alpha species. Godzilla vs Kong is the movie that has been teased since 2014's Godzilla which was a massive hit and introduced Gareth Edwards as the director-to-hire. In 2017, Kong Skull Island made the giant ape way more cooler than Peter Jackson's iteration but by the end of that movie, it had only teased the fight between Godzilla and King Ghidorah which took place in the Godzilla sequel that was not all that great of a sequel but managed to have some monster on monster action that finally teased the brawl we have been waiting for.  Godzilla vs Kong is the first movie this year I have faith in getting some box office credit now, that most of the theatres around the world are finally open but for those who would rather not see it on the big screen, they can watch it online very soon. Fortunately, the epic fight is now playi

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 2: The Star Spangled Man (Spoiler Free Review)

Image
(Courtesy of Marvel Studios)  After the reveal of the all new Captain America, fans of the MCU have been hammering the less than a minute scene that left us wanting more last week. (More of the show and not of the new Cap). Unfortunately, for the fans that are scathingly hating on him, episode 2 of the Falcon and The Winter Soldier introduces the new addition of the show.  'Star Spangled Man' title comes from the song that was performed for Captain America during the 40's when he was an entertainer before becoming the infamous Hydra defeater. The song is reminisces the absence as well as welcoming - not really - the all-new face that holds the Shield. The episode is much more fast paced than the first and gives us the questions we have been aching for. The fight scene this episode brings me so much joy because it finally brings the two titular characters together and the banter is just officially on and on crack from that moment on.  The more spoilery parts of this episod

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 1: New World Order (Spoiler Free Review)

Image
It has been two Fridays that have passed since WandaVision ended and Marvel Studios is not definitely not done yet with more stories to tell. For the next 5 weeks, The Falcon and The Winter Solider will be Marvel-ites all new dig site to find and decipher potential storylines and theories that will either be further explored in the series or in later projects of the MCU. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's very first episode basically manages to set up the a proper prologue to a big and long event story that is going to be exploited in the next 5 episodes. Sadly in this episode, we do not see Sam or Bucky together yet but instead dealing with repercussions caused by the many Snaps that occurred during both Infinity War and Endgame. As you can notice, many issues are being brewed in this Marvel political drama that will hopefully get resolved eventually.  What made this first episode so great was the intimate details of both Sam and Bucky's life finally introduced in this minise

A Victorious Result from Fans Loyalty That Proved Itself Worthwhile and Needed (Zack Snyder's Justice League)

Image
Yes.. It is finally upon us. Thanks to the undying support that has been going on for several years to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut and the countless petitions to finally be able to watch Zack Snyder's original vision of Justice League, the Zack Snyder's Justice League is finally here. Fans shall rejoice for this victory making actual movie history. No one has ever done a feat like this and Snyder Cut fans should be proud of what they have achieved.  Fans are a power to reckon with clearly, but was this version of the film worth being released or in fact, worth watching? For those who aren't aware, this cut of Justice League runs for 4 hours and 2 minutes, making it the longest superhero movie ever made and as we all know, with more time to cover, there is more time to spend with our beloved superheroes the way Avengers Infinity War and Endgame did.  The Snyder Cut is basically a much longer version of the Justice League movie that was released in 2016 but what people don't k

The Chaos Walking Trilogy review

Image
It's been almost a year since I reviewed a book trilogy with my first time read of Leigh Bardugo's Shadow and Bone trilogy now soon to be released as a tv show streaming on Netflix soon and now, I have finally finished reading the Chaos Walking trilogy by Patrick Ness, a few weeks after the movie released. I have never seen the movie yet due to it not playing in theatres in Malaysia and not playing in streaming services anywhere till further notice.  Fortunately, this was good because I wouldn't have forced myself to finish it before the movie ever came out. The trilogy itself is quite similar to most of the young adult books which were about post apocalyptic futures that evidently had to be saved by a bunch of 16 to 18 year olds. The Chaos Walking trilogy is set in the future where settlers live in an all new world. The main character throughout is Todd Hewitt, the last child to become a man as there are no women left due to them almost being extinct.  With mostly men, t

WandaVision Episode 9: The Series Finale (Spoiler Free Review)

Image
(Courtesy of Marvel Studios) We have finally reached the end and it is almost too precious to let it go. WandaVision has finally reached its bittersweet end by tying up loose ends as well as leaving some plot points open ended for the rest of the MCU to deal with. It has been such a journey these last few weeks and I am forever grateful for Marvel taking a chance in taking a chance in one of the most complicated comic book character arcs and adapting it in the best way possible but I don't think we are done adapting the House of M just yet.  The WandaVision series finale (yes... because it is a miniseries) manages to bring out the big guns with the epic battle everyone has been waiting for. It may seem a little bit obvious that by this episode, all CGI budgets were dialed to 11 and because it was made during the quarantine, visuals for the episodes looked more computer than real but the effort is worth making up for it with its amazing storyline.  Wanda has finally reached her fi

A Disney Animation Marvel (Raya and The Last Dragon)

Image
Theatres are finally open in Malaysia especially in Penang, which makes me so happy. But unfortunately I didn't get to watch what might be Disney's all new visual marvel in the cinema is an acceptable fact but I am still somewhat sad about it. Even if I did get to watch it at home, Disney still managed to convince me that Raya and The Last Dragon is one of Disney's best.  The film takes place in Southeast Asia (That's right, my fellow Malaysians) where a kingdom called Kamundra is split into three 5 factions that are against each other due to a traumatic event of betrayal and it is up to Raya, a princess from the faction called Heart is looking for the Last Dragon to save the future of Kamundra. The film stars Kelly Marie Tran as Raya and Akwafina as Sisu the Dragon.  I was upset with how everyone bullied Marie Tran back when she was in Star Wars and due to the attacks, she was given a smaller in the overly controversial Rise of Skywalker. Luckily, Disney has finally

The Iconic Frenemies Return in the Saddest Way Possible (Tom and Jerry)

Image
One of the world's most famous iconic duo of frenemies was supposed to return in the big screen but with theatres closed almost everywhere... our home televisions will have to do. Tom and Jerry has been around for many years, entertaining both children and adults for quite a number of generations and this movie's aim, in a way was to introduce the all new generation to the infamous cartoon but somewhat fails to do so.  The Tom and Jerry film reunites the pair once again after Jerry messes with Tom's chance at making an income and as usual, the chase begins. This time, however, they run into a 20 year old Kayla (Chloe Grace Moretz) who struggles to look for a job in the Big Apple who so happens end up a main character in the movie as well. The three meet in a hotel and eventually the shenanigans begin as the hotel organizes one of the biggest celebrity weddings.  Okay, so... why did I think that this was the saddest and worst way to show off Tom and Jerry again was because
