A Victorious Result from Fans Loyalty That Proved Itself Worthwhile and Needed (Zack Snyder's Justice League)

Yes.. It is finally upon us. Thanks to the undying support that has been going on for several years to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut and the countless petitions to finally be able to watch Zack Snyder's original vision of Justice League, the Zack Snyder's Justice League is finally here. Fans shall rejoice for this victory making actual movie history. No one has ever done a feat like this and Snyder Cut fans should be proud of what they have achieved.

Fans are a power to reckon with clearly, but was this version of the film worth being released or in fact, worth watching? For those who aren't aware, this cut of Justice League runs for 4 hours and 2 minutes, making it the longest superhero movie ever made and as we all know, with more time to cover, there is more time to spend with our beloved superheroes the way Avengers Infinity War and Endgame did.

The Snyder Cut is basically a much longer version of the Justice League movie that was released in 2016 but what people don't know is that there is a big gigantic arc in the movie that was completely cut which has finally been restored in this version of the film. Although a question that I have been waiting to get answered since the Knightmare scene that was featured in a sequence during Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was barely answered, it does finally set it up in the best way possible. The open ended storyline is left that way due to how the original plan of the DCEU was to feature a sequel of Justice League after this. We don't know if we will ever see the sequel that Snyder planned to make but with how this movie turned out, never say never.

What was considered better in this film is the introduction of Aquaman, The Flash and most importantly, Cyborg. All of their backstories are featured in the film with enough time used to show off how different they are as well as how similar. The addition of Steppenwolf's arc is also another fun storyline making this film not only about the heroes as well as the villains.

Although certain scenes were similar but if you have seen the theatrical version of the film, you can notice the differences. What I noticed was the drastic changes of dialogue and lackluster humor added by Joss Whedon in the theatrical cut. The tropes that Whedon added were completely unnecessary and including the scene where we all know Gal Gadot refused to reshoot which led them to using a stunt double. Knowing this scene did not exist in the original cut and not being able live with that scene forever definitely allows me to sigh in relief.

The music in this film is something to have a nerdgasm over. Justice League finally has a soundtrack that I actually enjoy featuring recurring themes from Man of Steel, BvS and  Wonder Woman as well as an all-new theme for the Justice League team themselves. Two songs are featured in the film that are not Come Together by Gary Clark Jr or Everybody Knows by Sigrid which were featured in the theatrical version. The first song in the soundtrack is Song For The Siren which is featured in a Barry Allen slow-motion sequence which is not surprisingly, my favorite among the two. The second is a cover of Leonard Cohen's classic song 'Hallelujah" by Allison Crowe which is not exactly my most favorite version of the song but I know that this is Autumn Snyder's (Zack Snyder's deceased daughter) favorite song and it was used in the film as a tribute to her so... I shall give that criticism a pass.

Is the Snyder Cut for everyone though? I don't think so. I am pretty sure there are people out there who prefer a much messier and shorter version of this film or just don't want to watch any version of this film whatsoever because it can never live up to the comic book or whatever they tell themselves to sleep better at night but the choice is entirely up to them and we should not egg someone on to watch it when they do not want to. But from what I have seen, a bunch of people wanted to watch and in the process, even broke the HBO Asia streaming service yesterday so, I am not exactly worried about you DC fans out there in this continent, making sure that Zack Snyder gets the recognition he deserves.
