The Monster Brawl For The Ages (Godzilla vs Kong)

Two movie monster legends collide for the first time, finally answering the long-time question Kaiju fans have been demanding for,  determining who is the alpha species. Godzilla vs Kong is the movie that has been teased since 2014's Godzilla which was a massive hit and introduced Gareth Edwards as the director-to-hire. In 2017, Kong Skull Island made the giant ape way more cooler than Peter Jackson's iteration but by the end of that movie, it had only teased the fight between Godzilla and King Ghidorah which took place in the Godzilla sequel that was not all that great of a sequel but managed to have some monster on monster action that finally teased the brawl we have been waiting for.

Godzilla vs Kong is the first movie this year I have faith in getting some box office credit now, that most of the theatres around the world are finally open but for those who would rather not see it on the big screen, they can watch it online very soon. Fortunately, the epic fight is now playing cinemas for all to experience (whether in 3D or IMAX). The MonsterVerse is finally back on track with this 2 hour movie that finally gives everyone the best reason to return to the cinemas this week.

The only thing I can think of while watching this movie was how much better it was compared to Godzilla King of the Monsters. The 'Zilla sequel back in 2019 was promoted as the bigger and longer adventure that encompasses such big fights that watching it IMAX almost seemed like a chore for your eyes but with this movie, it is so fun and monster-heavy that you forget the world outside the cinema.

The last few weeks have been filled with people considering themselves either #TeamKong or #TeamGodzilla but with that aside, I can guarantee that Kong is king in this film, being more of a sequel for the titan ape compared to Godzilla. Adventuring into more Titan-sized mysteries and introduction to other pointless human characters make this movie a tad more interesting. I do have to warn you that the first 15 to 20 minutes of the movie is slow but it picks up in the best way possible.

Should you watch Godzilla vs Kong? The answer is YES. It is worth wasting 2 hours of your life on. It should fill up your time for the time and give yourself the chance to finally breathe in the scent of large air conditioners and popcorn any day this week you plan on watching the movie, giving a punch onto the worldwide box office.
