WandaVision Episode 8 (Spoiler Free review)

The expression Wanda makes above is definitely the face everyone will make after watching the recent episode of WandaVision. We are finally done with the sitcom part of the show and getting into the full-fledged Marvel show were promised. More answers are answered as per usual and of course more questions alongside a taste of what is coming for us in the epic finale next week.

Episode 8 is what I hope everyone (including me) wanted and more. WandaVision finally proves that Marvel does not only excel in action but also with scenes that not only strums but plucks your heartstrings. Giving us literally the quote of the year, Vision's one scene in this episode is his most mundane yet. The sheer star power to beat for the week is most definitely Elizabeth Olsen. In previous weeks, her portrayal of the fan favorite superhero has only foreshadowed why Kevin Feige hired her all those years ago. The recent episode officially puts Olsen on the map as possibly one of many great drama actress worth looking up to.

Friday happened to also air officially the longest episode of WandaVision, setting up what could be one of the best MCU adaptations, especially one that had was pressured to keep audiences interested in the long-winded franchise after box office behemoths like Infinity War and Endgame.

Watching the recent episode of WandaVision also proves that both Disney and Marvel are officially brave enough to show off stories that are not all filled with bright colors and musical numbers but also stories that are dark and somewhat too close too home. With Wanda Maximoff's arcs further explored on screen, topics like mental health issues will be easier to comprehend with superheroes in movies or on TV can have real world problems as well.

To conclude, episode 8 is Marvel at it's best, making it the best episode of WandaVision. The end goal of the long run proves worthy because the wait leading to this episode is more than just 'worth it' especially for people like me who has been waiting for this episode since the show first premiered. If this show or any of the cast members including Lizzie Olsen do not get nominated for the next wave of award considerations later this year, I will throw a fit.
