Glitter Bomb of Female Empowerment (Birds of Prey)

It's a been yet another long while since I've reviewed anything but I'm finally back to review the one and only fantabulous emancipation of one Harley Quinn. Along with the introduction of the Birds of Prey, of course.

Margot Robbie returns to portray the infamous Harley Quinn as well as having executive producing credit in her belt. The Last time we saw Harley was way back in 2016 in the fan bombshell of a movie, Suicide Squad. Nobody liked the movie for that it was dull and it had many flaws. I did like Squad but I knew there was more to show. Months later, an extended version of the movie was released but it made the story even more complicated. The extended version was basically a Harley cut giving Harley more screen time. Not that I'm complaining for that I love Harley, but I would have loved a Harley solo movie.

Birds of Prey is basically a movie about Harley but with new supporting characters supporting her, instead of her being the support of Deadshot, Boomerang and Killer Croc. Unlike Squad, Birds utilises all of their characters which is great. What's more awesome is that Ewan McGregor portrays villain, Black Mask. Pure epicness.

Harley as usual is the absolute insane delight that you didnt know you needed in your life. Her messed up, sadistic humour makes this movie the right movie to feature a deserving storyline to allow The Clown Princess to shine in all of her glory.

Black Canary is way cooler than how she is portrayed in the Arrowverse. Canary's storyline is convoluted one in the Arrowverse but the DC Extended Universe apparently wants to do her character justice and show that she is someone worth rooting for in a fight.

Renee Montoya is an underrated DC cop that's lesbian and loves donuts. Underused in the hit Gotham series, DC brings her back to possibly make her the character that she's meant to be and that person is not the best person to cross paths with.

Helena Bertinelli, The Huntress (another character already introduced in the Arrowverse) is a much better adaptation of the character where she suffers to connect with people because she was raised to be an assassin and devoted herself to killing the people that murdered her entire family. Mary Elizabeth Winstead returns to the big screen with a bang and can't wait to see her in more movies to come, DC or not.

Cassandra Cain is the catalyst of why all these leading ladies cross paths and it's kinda annoying but I thank her for bringing together this crazy, angry, women together.

Birds of Prey is the ultimate glitter bomb of female empowerment that would make alot of white men make angry and feel threatened. The promotion for this movie was heavily screwed over by a number of men which I think is really mean. I wish they'd stop. Same thing happened with Captain Marvel and now also happening with Black Widow. Anyways, Birds of Prey is epic and you should watch it for the weekend.

I'm rating Birds of Prey and The Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn an 8/10 eventhough it had tiny flaws which barely was visible with all the John Wick-action going on.
